Places - Olhos d'Agua

Olhos d'Agua is the closest village to Balaia Golf Village, although there are shops and other amenities between the two. Olhos d'Agua is named for the fresh water spring exposed amongst the rocks at low tide as the name means "eyes of the sea". Don't expect to see the eyes of sea unless you have a lucky combination of recent rainfall and low tide. Olhos promenade has been substantially remodeled since 2002 with improved beach front access, toilets and showers.

Olhos is small, quiet, shunned by lager louts, has no discos, but plenty of places to eat, achievably within walking distance of Balaia.

The best times to come to Olhos are first thing in the morning before breakfast for a constitutional swim, or late in the evening for a good meal. Nightlife is not notable apart from dining; in the peak season, because of limited parking available near the beach, it might not be worth the journey during the day.
